The Information Store was born out of an industry-wide effort to improve the way E&P data was managed and utilized. In 1994, a group of former participants from POSC (a not for profit organization with a mission to standardize the data model for the upstream sector) formed The Information Store, Inc.. They shared not only a common background rich in petroleum industry experiences, but had the technical know-how to implement practical and realistic solutions.
Headquartered in Houston, Texas, The Information Store is a privately held company with worldwide operations, servicing clients in North America, Latin America, Australia, Africa, and the Middle East. The Information Store is under the direction and leadership of President and CEO Barry Irani.
