Tom Woolley, Chief Engineer

As chief engineer for The Information Store, Tom Woolley offers 30 years of engineering, operations and technology experience in the oil and gas industry.

Woolley has held senior positions with several petroleum industry leaders. He spent 17 years in oil and gas engineering and operations with Sun Oil Company and Oryx Energy, where he served in engineering, operations and management positions including director of information technology.

At Sun, Woolley founded the company's technical computing initiative and managed the firm's global technical computing user support group. As a product manager for PI/Dwight's, Woolley managed the development of petroleum engineering software and petroleum engineering consulting. He also served as manager of global customer support and training at IHS Energy Group, as well as vice president and chief operating officer for UpstreamInfo.com.

Woolley was elected distinguished lecturer for the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and served as executive editor for the organization's Computer Applications magazine. He earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University and is a registered professional engineer in Texas.
