iStore Integrates IHS E&P Data into its PetroTrek® Digital Oilfield Solution HOUSTON - April 7, 2009 - The Information Store ® (iStore) now offers oil and gas companies the ability to seamlessly integrate exploration and production (E&P) data from IHS (NYSE: IHS) and internal company data into their digital oilfield platforms using its PetroTrek ® Digital Oilfield solution. Integrating IHS data via Enerdeq® Web Services into PetroTrek allows users across the organization to seamlessly access, view, and analyze the IHS oil and gas well and associated production data along with content from other data sources on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Microsoft Virtual Earth. “IHS and iStore customers now have a seamless and easy way to combine proprietary internal data with external data in an integrated view,” said Barry Irani, president and CEO of iStore. “By integrating IHS information into PetroTrek Digital Oilfield, oil companies can extract, view and analyze all available data more easily, enhancing their ability to make timely, better-informed decisions about their exploration, drilling, production and acquisition and divestiture activities.” Irani added, “Now, in a single view, E&P professionals can evaluate their operations versus their competitors. PetroTrek Digital Oilfield also enhances workflows using IHS data by allowing simple roll-ups of producing wells, including both standard and ad-hoc groupings.” PetroTrek is a web-based software tool that allows oil and gas companies to easily retrieve and view data stored in disparate database systems without having to move data to a new storage location. Data can be retrieved as needed in real time, leveraging existing IT investment and infrastructure. PetroTrek presents the data in recognizable formats that include text and graphics for quick analysis of oil assets. “The iStore integration with IHS Enerdeq Web Services provides a compelling solution for E&P companies, blending IHS commercial well and production information with customers' proprietary content in a Virtual Earth™ environment,” said IHS Vice President, Global Information Access Rich Herrmann. “This solution is a great example of responding to the industry's need for open access to IHS critical information, taking advantage of web services to provide unparalleled levels of integration with strategic partner, third party, and customer applications.” “As oil and gas companies are increasingly seeing the benefit in merging financial and operational data, more people than ever need to have access to business intelligence tools for right-time analysis and heightened decision making,” said Craig Hodges, U.S. energy and chemicals industry solutions director at Microsoft. “SharePoint Server provides an infrastructure that allows PetroTrek users to quickly get up to date, collaborate and manage multiple data sets from a single location.” iStore will demonstrate the integration of IHS data with PetroTrek at the April 7 SPE Digital Energy Conference in Houston, in booth #111.
