Oscar Teoh, Vice president of operations

Oscar Teoh serves as vice president of operations for The Information Store, where he is responsible for client relationships, product specifications and delivery of PetroTrek software systems.

In more than two decades in the oil and gas industry, Teoh developed expertise in software engineering, knowledge and information management, virtual team working, and leveraging information technology to impact business performance.

Teoh launched his career at Texas Instruments, where he pioneered workstation software for 3D seismic interpretation. Then in 1982, Teoh joined BP, where he was a senior staff geophysicist. There he worked with a team of software engineers from Standard Oil and BP to implement an integrated 2D and 3D interactive workstation for geoscientists and engineers. In 1990, he was seconded to the Petrotechnical Open Software Consortium (POSC) as technical director.

Teoh earned both bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Texas in Austin. He is an active member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
