Iain Morison, Chief Technology Officer Iain Morison serves as chief technology officer for The Information Store, where he pioneered the company's Web-enabled approach to information distribution. Morison has more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. The majority of his career has been spent developing software and looking for innovative ways to increase productivity with computer technology. Morison launched his career at Marconi Avionics, later moving to ICI where he worked in process control and computer-aided design. He then joined the British National Oil Company (BNOC) in 1981. In the following 12 years, as BNOC became Britoil and was later taken over by BP, Morison worked on a variety of systems, covering most technical and business aspects of oil exploration and production. He then spent several years with the Petrotechnical Open Software Consortium (POSC) developing standards to improve integration and information sharing within the industry. Morison holds an MA in natural sciences from Cambridge, and a PhD in physics from Leicester University in the United Kingdom. |
